Google has updated the look of mobile AdSense text ads again.
Above is an example of the new and old formats. Though the copy in the old example above is left-justified, Google has typically used centered text and serif font. The biggest updates here are the shaded background, new rounded blue button and elimination of the subtle prompt to swipe in order to see the display URL — that funky design element made its debut in October 2014.
The button design follows what is used in the richer text ads format that Google introduced in August. Richer text ads automatically convert text ads into image ads, incorporating advertiser logos and brand colors.
These text ad formats compete in both text ad and display ad auctions.
