AdBrite Ad Exchange Will Close Its Doors By End Of Month

The once popular advertising exchange adBrite is closing its doors on February 1st. AdBrite claimed to be the largest independent ad exchange with a transparent marketplace, yet won’t be able to keep the doors open any longer. FBX, re-targeting and the numerous ad networks that are now available have simply run adBrite out of profitability.

Yesterday the aBrite team sent the following email out to their advertisers:

AllThingsD notes that the company has 26 employees who will be affected and that adBrite is currently in the process of selling off its assets. The article also states that the reason adBrite will be shut down is simply that an attempt to find a buyer was unproductive. According to CrunchBase, adBrite received 40 million in funding throughout its lifespan.
