Job seekers looking for more of a work-life balance in their next career may want to avoid positions with
Facebook, Google and Apple. The online jobs and career community website Glassdoor has released its 2013 Top 25 Companies for Work-Life Balance report, and not one of the three leading tech giants made the list.
After eliminating their work-from-home policy earlier this year, Yahoo still broke the top 20, ranking No. 16, three spots after AOL at No. 13. A Yahoo senior software engineer based in Sunnyvale, California had a number of positive things to say about the company, commenting that Yahoo offered, “Good salaries, good food, good benefits, onsite gym, good work life balance, good technologies to learn and work with.”
Glassdoor is an online career resource that provides information like salary ranges, company reviews and possible interview questions based on anonymous, employee-generated content. The Top 25 Companies for Work-Life Balance report ranks the highest rated companies for work-life balance using only employee feedback. To make the list, companies had to have a minimum of 50 work-life balance ratings on Glassdoor within the last year, and 10 ratings during the prior year.
