Marketers that want a better sense of where a Facebook Page is most popular can do that now via a new tool from the social analytics firm, SocialBakers.
The company announced its Local Page Ranks tool today, which shows where Page fans are located geographically. This data has been available to Page owners in Facebook Insights, but only for their own Page(s).
SocialBakers’ Facebook Page Statistics page now has a “Country” dropdown where the local ranks of Pages that SocialBakers monitors can be accessed. The data shows, for example, that Walmart is currently the most popular Facebook page in the US, with more than 24 million fans.
Walmart has a little more than half of the overall fans that Family Guy has, but within the US, it’s more popular than the FOX TV show.
SocialBakers is also providing more specific geographic fan data for individual brands. Its Starbucks profile page (and others) breaks down a Page’s full geographic fan distribution.
Aside from the novelty aspect of seeing where a brand’s fans are located around the world, larger brands are likely to find this data interesting and valuable from a competitive research standpoint.
