Facebook’s Insights tool is
reportedly about to become much faster with the addition of real-time stats. Techcrunch broke the news that the official Facebook analytics program will move towards live (or near real-time) statistics instead of the current 48 hour reporting delay.
Insights has been rather spotty as of late, with many pages reporting a 3 to 4 day lag on information. Real-time data is available for Analytics for Websites and allows users to see how Facebook widgets/buttons/refferals are performing.
With the addition of more current metrics like the “People Talking About This” number live statistics would help companies justify marketing efforts. The power of Facebook over traditional marketing is the presence of real-time conversations, news and marketing messages.
No timetable has been announced for the release of real-time Insights.
