Calling it “the most powerful set of tools we’ve ever built,” MailChimp has announced a new suite of email marketing tools the company is calling MailChimp Pro.
Co-founder Ben Chestnut says the new product is the result of four years of data science research, and 10 months of work by 12 internal MailChimp teams.
MailChimp Pro offers email marketers and business owners a number of new features include multivariate testing, allowing customers to create up to eight variations of a campaign in a drag-and-drop editor. New comparative reports offer analysis of multiple campaigns over time. It also offers a “delivery insight” feature that the company compares to “tracking a shipment, but for emails.” MailChimp Pro customers will also have access to priority tech support.
“MailChimp Pro is built for businesses that are serious about using customer data to make email marketing more effective,” said Chief Data Scientist John Foreman. “Whether by identifying trends with Comparative Reports or gathering insights across multiple design and copy combinations with Multivariate Testing, MailChimp Pro serves up data that empowers users to market to their audiences intelligently.”
The product is a $199 per month addition on top of the cost of a regular monthly plan.
MailChimp is based in Atlanta and has 450 employees. The company says its nine million customers send more than 20 billion emails each month.
