Google Voted “Best Place To Work” In 2014 By Glassdoor’s Employee Choice Awards

Ranking No. 8 in 2013, Google has now climbed its way to the top of the list when it comes to best places to work in the U.S. Based solely on employee feedback, Google ranked No. 1 on Glassdoor’s Employee Choice Awards Top 50 Best Places to Work.

The job and career community website ranked the top 50 best places to work in the U.S., for both large companies (1,000 or more employees), as well as the 50 best small and medium-sized companies in the country.

New this year, Glassdoor also surveyed British employees to create the top 25 best places to work in the UK – a list that also ranked Google as No. 1.

Compared to last year, there was a noticeable absence of tech companies from this year’s list. Google was the only tech company to make the top ten. Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn – all companies that made the top five last year – fell well below their previous ranking.

Ranking No. 2 in 2013, Twitter didn’t even make this year’s list. LinkedIn dropped 20 spots from No. 3 to No. 23, and Facebook fell from No. 5 to No. 13.
