Publishing firm

The Hatchett Group announced Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt and Jonathan Rosenberg, who served as Google’s senior vice president during Schmidt’s tenure as CEO, have signed a book deal with Grand Central Publishing’s imprint Business Plus.

According to the announcement, No Adult Supervision Required: How To Build Successful 21st Century Companies has a release date scheduled for the fall of 2014 and will serve as a:

Fun-to-read guide for executives and entrepreneurs who want to thrive in a business landscape where the old rules of management no longer apply. Each chapter will contain how-to advice illustrated by inside stories from the authors’ years at Google, Sun Microsystems and Apple covering topics such as growth, corporate culture, talent, decision-making, innovation, communication and dealing with disruptions.

“Back in 2010, Eric and I created an internal class for Google managers focusing on the lessons the management team learned the hard way,” said Rosenberg in the announcement, “The class slides all said ‘Google confidential’ until an employee suggested we uphold the spirit of openness and share them with the world. This book codifies the recipe for our secret sauce.”

The book deal was brokered by Levine Greenberg literary agent James Levine and Business Business Plus executive editor John Brodie.
