According to the latest e-commerce report from predictive analytics platform Custora, online retailers will be enjoying more record-breaking numbers this holiday season.

After tracking real-time online transactions from more than 100 U.S. online retailers, 100 million online shoppers and over $40 billion in online sales, Custora reports the number of e-commerce orders occurring between December 2 and December 14 were up 16.5 percent compared to last year.

Growth hasn’t slowed down post Cyber Monday – in fact, it has picked up: In the first two weeks of December, U.S. e-commerce orders grew 16.5% over the equivalent time period in 2013, with revenue up 15.6%.

With nearly 25 percent of online holiday purchases happening on mobile, Custora says mobile shopping, along with Google search and email marketing, has helped drive the upward swing in e-commerce.

Of the mobile orders made on smartphones and tablets the first two weeks of December, 78.7 percent happened on an Apple device and 20.8 percent on an Android.

Custora points out that even though the majority of e-commerce mobile orders happened on an iPhone or iPad, Apple’s mobile e-commerce share is down 84 percent, while Android’s share has climbed 15.5 percent.

Search and email were also big e-commerce drivers during the post-Cyber Monday shopping period. During the first two weeks of December, Custora reports organic search accounted for 20.9 percent of online orders, email 18.6 percent, and paid search 16.4 percent.

Social barely made a mark, driving only two-percent of e-commerce orders between December 2 and December 14.
