There’s
no YouTube app for Google Glass quite yet, but there is a new app that searches YouTube for “how to” videos and aims to make you smarter along the way — kinda like the “fast learning” you might know from The Matrix.
It’s called How Do I… and the idea is “to teach anyone, anything, anywhere and at any time via Google Glass.”
It uses the new “Take Note” function to send your search query to Google, and then it returns matching YouTube results. In my test, I asked “How do I … install a dishwasher?” Here’s a quick look at the steps from asking my question to getting my video answer.
If you’ve already clicked the link above those screenshots, you noticed that this app is from RustyBrick — the development company owned by our News Editor, Barry Schwartz.
RustyBrick also recently announced another Google Glass app with a search element to it called JewGlass. It’s kinda like Google Now for observant Jews in that it will automatically show local search results to help users locate kosher restaurants, nearby synagogues and more.
Both of these apps are free.
