announced today they have updated the way conversations are organized in a user’s home timeline, as well as added new features to their Android and iPhone apps.
From now on, up to three Tweets that are part of a conversation will be displayed chronologically. A user can tap a Tweet in the conversation thread to display all replies to that Tweet, including those from people the user doesn’t follow.
With the new updates, users can now share conversations over email as well. Android and iPhone users will be able to share individual Tweets over email, while Android users can share a Tweet via a direct message.
Other mobile updates that are scheduled to roll out gradually include the ability to report Tweets for abuse or spam directly from Twitter.com and Twitter for Android. (Twitter notes this feature is already available on Twitter for iPhone.)
Also, for entry-level Android smartphones, the Twitter app is now less than half its previous size. According to the announcement, the new size will minimize the app’s download time and make it easier to install.
