It has been an excellent run for Facebook over the past few months. Not only was their Q4 earnings report stellar, they’ve also owned the overall social referral space. To top things off, Gigya, a consumer management suite, is showing that Facebook is yet again dominating the social login space.
According to Gigya, Facebook held steady in Q4 and holds 51% of all social logins worldwide with a 51% marketshare. Google+ obtained the silver with a 28% share (up 2% from Q3):
Facebook continues to dominate the mobile login space as well with 63% of the marketshare. Google+ jumped a full 5 percentage points from Q3 to Q4 and is now up to a quarter of the overall marketshare.
When looking at North American traffic only, the Gigya numbers were closer to the Janrain Q4 report that was released earlier this month. Google+ actually gained ground from Q3, up to 31% of the North American market compared to 27% in Q3 while Facebook stayed rock-solid at 47%:
In Q4 Facebook did see improvements across the board in the verticals that Gigya tracks including:
Ecommerce – Up 2% to 76% of social login marketshare.
Media Poublishers – Up 1% to 45%
Consumer Brands – Up 5% to 66%
Travel/Hospitality – Up 9% to 59%
Education/Non-Profit – Up 7% to 79%
