As we promised last month, our expansion continues. In addition to the two positions that we added last week, we’re now ready to accept applications for three more positions on our editorial team.

All three openings are full-time, salaried positions, and each is a telecommuting opportunity. The three positions are listed below in alphabetical order, and instructions for applying are included after the job listings.

Associate Features Editor
The Associate Features Editor is a member of the Third Door Media editorial team that assists the Features Editor in preparing contributed content for Search Engine Land / Marketing Land’s production cycle. Part editor and part web producer, the person in this role will work on content strategy, editorial voice, assist in managing editorial calendar, ensure contributed content meets editorial standards and is in line with editorial vision. This position reports to the Features Editor.
Primary Job Duties:
Prep columns for publication as assigned by features editor. Focus on maintaining content standards, ensuring columns are on topic, flow smoothly and provide value to audience.
Assist in editorial calendar management.
Improve story formatting for superior readability and audience engagement.
Work with copy editor to finalize articles for publication and ensure deadlines are met.
Assist in generating ideas for topics for columnists to cover.
Aid in contributor recruitment and on-boarding process.
Promote stories to interactive marketing community through social channels.
Remain up-to-date and informed on news, information and trends related to online marketing.
Occasional feature writing as necessary and able.
Any tasks deemed appropriate by the Features Editor.
Skills & Experience:
Journalism / Communication background preferred
Strong English skills / copy editing experience
Working knowledge of online marketing terminology & trends
Working knowledge of WordPress / Basic HTML skills
Graphics / image editing skills a plus
Job Details & Candidate Information: This position is a full-time, telecommute opportunity. Some travel may be required. Candidates should be able to work independently and be productive from a home office and be a “people person” who can develop a strong working relationship with columnists. Experience in online marketing and social media skills highly desired.
Contributing Editor
The Contributing Editor is a member of the Third Door Media editorial team that writes original news stories for Marketing Land and Search Engine Land. This position is specifically for a contributing editor who will focus on paid search and online advertising stories. This person should be extremely knowledgeable in as many paid search/advertising areas as possible, including (but not limited to) paid search ads, paid social media, display advertising and retargeting. This position reports to the Editor-In-Chief.
Primary Job Duties:
Write news stories and/or features as assigned by the Editor-In-Chief and News Editor(s). These will primarily be on paid search/advertising, but may include other topics as needed and able.
Participate in daily discussions regarding story assignments and develop story ideas with the editorial team.
Promote stories to interactive marketing community through social channels.
When available, travel to events to perform interviews, research and/or writing assignments.
Remain up-to-date and informed on news, information and trends related to paid search/advertising specifically, and online marketing in general.
Any tasks deemed appropriate by the Editor-In-Chief.
Skills & Experience:

General Assignment Correspondent
The General Assignment Correspondent is a member of the Third Door Media editorial team that writes original news stories on a variety of topics for Marketing Land and Search Engine Land. This person should be well-rounded in many aspects of the online marketing industry, from search to social networking, email and affiliate marketing, display advertising and more. This position reports to the Editor-In-Chief.
Primary Job Duties:
Research and write news stories and/or features as assigned by the Editor-In-Chief and News Editor(s).
Participate in daily discussions regarding story assignments and develop story ideas with the editorial team.
Promote stories to interactive marketing community through social channels.
When available, travel to events to perform interviews, research and/or writing assignments.
Remain up-to-date and informed on news, information and trends related to online marketing.
Any tasks deemed appropriate by the Editor-In-Chief.
Skills & Experience:

These are full-time positions; i.e., 40 hours per week. The right candidate(s) may be able to continue to do some light consulting work on the side, but our expectation is that this job will be your primary focus.

News happens around the clock, so we’re flexible on hours. These are not strict 9:00 am to 5:00 pm positions.
Salaries for each position will depend on experience.
