Mobile Affiliate Sales Hit All-Time High Of 27% In December, Affiliate Window Says

More evidence of the big shift to mobile in 2013: Affiliate Window, an affiliate network based in the US and UK, says that sales made via mobile devices hit an all-time high of 27.09 percent in December.

That’s almost double the 14.77 percent that mobile sales accounted for in January 2013.

In fact, when we last checked in with Affiliate Window in May 2013, mobile sales were at a then-record of 18 percent. (The company says it’s now using an improved tracking system, and that figure from May has been revised upward to 19 percent.)

Since May, mobile sales through Affiliate Window’s network have risen consistently, with the exception of slight dips in September and October.

Mobile Traffic Hits 39 Percent, iPhone Declining

Affiliate Window also says that mobile traffic across its network peaked at 39.35 percent on Christmas day, and averaged 32.4 percent for the whole month of December.

But iPhone traffic fell to 66 percent of all smartphone traffic in December, down from 70.5 percent back in January. That’s the lowest monthly share that the iPhone had all year. Conversely, Android smartphone traffic was up for the year — from 24.6 percent in January to 27.6 percent in December.

The numbers are similar when looking at tablets. Traffic via Android tablets gained from 18.4 percent in January to 22.4 percent in December, while iPad traffic dropped during the same period from 81.6 percent to 77.6 percent.
