Mazda Teams With Mogees To Turn Vehicle Into Musical Instrument

Mazda_and_Mogees_Collaboration

Earlier this month, Mazda worked with Mindshare UK to turn the Mazda3 into a musical instrument using a product called Mogees, which turns everyday objects into music-producing objects by converting vibrations into unique musical sounds.

The brand covered the Mazda3 with Mogees, and then the car was “played” by a group of percussionists.

As part of the brand’s UK social media efforts, the musical car videos were shared across Mazda’s social media properties, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

The video above has been well received, with over 137,000 views on YouTube and over 59,500 views on Facebook (along with almost 1,600 likes, 132 comments and 260 shares).

Who knew the new Mazda3 could sound like this? We've teamed up with @mogees to make a Mazda electronic instrument! https://t.co/wLIx1rv1eU — Mazda UK (@Mazda_UK) December 10, 2014

A “behind the scenes” video was created as well:

Of the work, Mazda UK Senior Marketing Manager James Crouch said, “The target audience for the all-new Mazda3 has an interest in music and technology so our partnership with Mogees taps right into that zeitgeist.”

Mindshare UK Social Media Manager Rob Slade added, “The partnership with Mogees has given us the chance to create a video that highlights the car in such a different way. We’ve ditched the traditional track film and made something that reflects Mazda’s innovation.”
