Live video sharing & storage platform Katch makes it possible to search its 1M archived videos

Periscope isn’t the only video platform celebrating its one-year anniversary this week. Katch, a live video sharing and storage provider for Periscope live video streams, also marked its first year in business.

In addition to celebrating its one-year anniversary, Katch released a search feature on its site, making it possible to search the more than one million live video streams it has archived.

“Katch turns one this week… and serendipitously, we just passed our one millionth Katch last month.”

Videos can be searched via the search bar on the top of Katch.me’s home page either by hashtags, video title or using the video creator’s Twitter or Periscope handle.

According to the site, Katch’s video archive is indexed every 20 seconds, so search results are in real time. Also, video search results can be filtered by recency or popularity.

For live video creators, Katch offers a solution to save Periscope content, so that live videos are available beyond expiration times on Twitter. To save broadcasts, users sign on via their Twitter accounts and then turn on the “Auto-Katch” option to save new broadcasts.

Once an account is created, the user’s Katch profile page serves as their public landing page, where video content can be managed and organized. The site offers a number of live video sharing and storage features, including the ability to embed or download video content, as well as share video content via Facebook.
