Lamar Outdoor #UltimateSelfieCampaign Awards Digital Billboard Fame To Those Who Make Charitable Don

Lamar Outdoor is a billboard company, but lately, it has implemented a couple of campaigns which have nicely married its outdoor offering with social media-fueled, online digital programs.

Last year, Lamar made it possible for anyone who tagged a photo with #ThankfulThisHoliday on social media to have their photo considered for display on one of Lamar’s 750 digital billboards that appear in 144 markets.

And just last month it teamed with the Cincinnati America Heart Association to celebrate Heart Awareness Month, encouraging people to post photos of friends and family who have been affected with heart issues to the Lamar Cincinnati or Cincinnati American Heart Association Facebook pages, which would then appear on billboards.

Now, Lamar is working with non-profit online community organization Creative Chatter on a new effort called the Ultimate Selfie Campaign.

The campaign, which uses the #UltimateSelfieCampaign hashtag, encourages people to upload a selfie to a Creative Chatter campaign page after making a $25 donation.

Nonprofits post on the community site items they need for the people they serve, and people then post items they want to donate. Creative Chatter’s makes a match within a 30 mile radius. It’s like an online clearing house for non-profits.

The selfies will appear on digital billboards donated by Lamar in 45 cities across the country. Campaign exposure is expected to be upwards of 10.8 million impressions.

Creative Chatter is promoting the campaign on Twitter and posting images to their Facebook page:
