Google+ On Air Hangouts Now Live For the Masses

Google+ users can now publicly broadcast from Google+ and YouTube. You’ll also be able to record hangouts and share them after they are over.

You would be hard pressed to find a Google+  feature I was more vocal about when brand pages first launch. Hangouts are great for special circles and exclusive content, but not being able to broadcast an event publicly and have anyone join in was limited an frustrating as a marketer. So, it’s good news is that Google is changing that.

Here’s the video explaining more about Hangouts On Air:

Due to complexity and bandwidth necessary to broadcast, Google will be rolling this out over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for the feature to show up as an option on your Google+ profile. In the meantime, start brainstorming –  how can you use this feature for your business? Live how-to’s? Special announcements? Event streaming? It will be interesting to watch how brands will use this over the next few months.
