Google+ Circles Bradley Horowitz As New Leader Of Photos & Streams Products

If one thing is constant at Google+, its change. Yesterday the leader of the struggling service, David Besbris, left his role as VP of Engineering for Google+. The void left will be filled by Google alum Bradley Horowitz.

In a post announcing the change, Mr. Horowitz stated that he’d be running “Google’s Photos and Streams products”. Horowitz joined Google in 2008 as a VP of Product for consumer applications where he helped lead the Google’s Project Management tools eventually launching the Google+ project in 2011. Previous to Mr. Besbris, the leader of Google+ was Vic Gundotra, SVP of Social. Seen by many as the father of Google+, Gundotra’s departure put users in a frenzy and bought out the fear-mongers.

It’s important to me that these changes are properly understood to be positive improvements to both our products and how they reach users. Bradley Horowitz - VP, Google Photos and Streams

Last week Google SVP Sundar Pichai made a foreboding statement that Google+ may really be three products – not just one area. In the official announcement from Horowitz, there is no mention of Google+ specifically, just the “Photos and Streams” products. His official title is “VP, Google Photos and Streams”, different than the “social” label as Mr. Gundotra was as “SVP of Social”.

For more information see the official post from Bradley Horowitz.
