Google Beats Apple & Facebook For Most Favorite Tech Company With 83% Favorable Rating

A Washington Post

poll ranking tech giants Google, Apple and Facebook revealed most Americans favor Google. Of the 1,007 Americans surveyed, 83 percent gave Google a favorable rating, while 72 percent gave Apple a favorable rating. Facebook scored the lowest with only 60 percent of survey participants giving the social network a favorable rating.

While the poll did not survey Facebook users between the ages of 13 to 18, young adults were more likely to give Facebook a favorable rating with favorable votes outnumbering unfavorable votes three to one in the 18 to 29 age group. Among seniors, Facebook received roughly an even split between favorable and unfavorable ratings.

People most likely to rate Google unfavorably were users over the age of 65, with only 64 percent of the older age group giving the search giant a favorable rating.

According to Washington Post, this year’s survey results are not much different from last year when Google earned an 82 percent favorable rating, Apple a 74 percent favorable rating and Facebook a 58 percent favorable rating. The biggest drop in favorability since last year occurred among Apple users under the age of 30. In 2012, Apple received an 81 percent favorable rating from the younger age group, but only scored 71 percent this year.
