Horse. No, not the creature you ride — the game you play with your friends that requires one player to match the basketball shot of another.
Foot Locker arranged a game of HORSE with Houston Rockets player James Harden. But it wasn’t just your typical game of HORSE in which one NBA star tries to one-up the other. Rather, Harden took on… the Internet.
That’s right — starting on September 24th, Foot Locker invited people to submit videos of their most awesome basketball shots through Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #HorseWithHarden. On October 1, Harden and crew took to the basketball court, complete with cameras and a cheering section, to match the best submitted shots.
Each shot that Harden made was filmed and tweeted back out to the person who originally submitted the shot. Harden didn’t make every single shot — but in the end, he beat the Internet in two out of three rounds.
Harden was challenged by quite a few shots, including one from his mother:
The student has become the teacher. James drains Mama Harden's shot. It's H-O-R-S for The Internet. http://t.co/4QUGTb0Rqv #HorseWithHarden — Foot Locker (@footlocker) October 2, 2014
But that didn’t deter Harden from having fun and urging everyone to keep submitting.
These shots are tougher than I thought they'd be! Keep them coming! @footlocker #HorseWithHarden — James Harden (@JHarden13) October 2, 2014
