Six months ago mobile was one of Facebook’s weakest areas. Today it is one of their brightest and most promising sectors. Facebook has been beefing up its mobile presence with the purchase of Instagram, the integration to iOS6, the launch of App center & Facebook camera, and a heavy mobile ad push (that actually work). Today that reaches out even further with the mobilization of the open graph “Like” button.
Users will now be able to like content directly within an app for an integrated experience. The following examples show the seamless integration of Likes on the Instagram and foursquare apps:
Once liked, the action will show in notifications and news feeds in the typical Facebook fashion:
One caveat, like any other Facebook app, the mobile app must be authorized to publish any mobile likes.
