Facebook Gives Advertisers Free Access To Shutterstock Images & Multiple Image Uploader

A picture is worth its weight in clicks. Facebook hopes to make it easier for advertisers to find the right image, or set of images, for successful ad campaigns. Today, Facebook announced a new partnership with Shutterstock that gives advertisers free access to millions of stock images from the Shutterstock library.

Rolling out in the coming weeks, and the images will be accessible from Facebook’s ad creation tool.  Advertisers will be able to search and select stock images for use  in any Facebook ad format.

Facebook also announced that, starting today, users can select multiple images in the ad creation tool in order to create multiple ads simultaneously. This new functionality makes it much easier to create and test ads within a campaign. The image uploader tool allows users to pull in images from their own image libraries, past campaigns and page photos as well as from the new Shutterstock library.

Stock images can be tricky. By their very nature, they tend to feel generic. But Facebook is smart to integrate access to the Shutterstock library and make it possible to quickly set up multiple ads. It encourages advertisers to experiment, and gives many access to better quality images than they’re using now. That should make for a better user experience, and theoretically lead to better click-through-rates for advertisers.
