eBay has launched its second curated marketplace, eBay Collective, with furniture, fine art and home decor from hand-picked dealers.
The new site promises unique home furnishings “that can traditionally only be found in independent brick-and-mortar stores” and also will have a content element. eBay will hand-pick editorial stories from Architectural Digest and Archdigest.com covering the latest home furnishings news, trends and decorating/shopping ideas.
“By aligning eBay’s unmatched inventory with Architectural Digest’s imagery and content, we’re creating a one-stop destination where inspiration leads to purchase on the same platform,” said eBay’s North America CMO, Suzy Deering, in the company’s news release.
eBay Collective will also use a “Shop the Look” artificial intelligence engine that came from eBay’s recent acquisition of Corrigon, a visual search company. The AI involved will allow shoppers to hover over an image and generate search results from eBay Collective’s inventory that match what’s in the image.

eBay Collective is available on both desktop and mobile.
Earlier this year, the company launched eBay Wine — its first curated marketplace — in conjunction with Drync, a mobile wine app.
