Celebrities #FeelingNuts About Testicular Cancer Awareness Campaign

By now, you have all poured a bucket of ice water over your head, partaking in the #IceBucketChallenge to raise money — so far, $100 million — for ALS research. Wait, what, you didn’t take the challenge? Shame on you!

Well now you can grab your nuts. Or grab a friend’s nuts, I guess. Say what? Yea, nut grabbing. It’s a thing now. Yup, another hashtag campaign to raise awareness for a cause. In this case, your balls. Or, well, a friend’s balls, too.

Launched all the way back in June — but just picking up steam now — the #FeelingNuts campaign comes from UK-based organization Check One Two which promotes awareness of testicular cancer.

The campaign was under the radar until late August when British TV host Rick Edwards posted a picture of himself grabbing his nuts and challenging Ricky Gervais, among others, to do the same.

Gervais, being Gervais, was quick to oblige with a nut grab, a flip of the bird and a challenge to Aaron Paul and Will Arnett.

Things heated up even  further when, on October 1, Hugh Jackman got in on the action and re-challenged Gervais.

Here’s the video which kicked off the campaign, which much like the many words used to describe boobs, has fun with all the words you can use to describe testicles.

Unlike the ALS #IceBucketChallenge, the goal is not to raise money. It’s much simpler. It’s to get men aware of the fact that they should check their testicles for lumps once in a while to achieve early detection if need be.
