Buffer’s Pablo Now Creates Images Optimized For All The Social Networks

Buffer has given its free images-with-a-message tool an upgrade. “Pablo,” launched last spring and the generator of more than 500,000 photos, now enables people to create images optimized for all the major social networks.

Need a square for Instagram? A horizontal for Facebook and Twitter? Or a vertical shot for Pinterest? Pablo has you covered.

And Buffer doesn’t mention it in its blog post introducing Pablo 2.0, but that vertical image will also work for Snapchat, if that’s part of your marketing mix.

The dimension options are laid out simply in the tool’s interface. One click changes the orientation of images either supplied by you or picked from Buffer’s stock photo options:

Buffer has also added more typography options, including new fonts and font sizes to enable people to tweak the look of the text overlaid on images.

And the Chrome extension now gives people the ability to pull text and images from the Web by right-clicking on highlighted text or photos. That’s especially handy for sharing a great quote from an article. Or for grabbing an image from your latest blog post to share on Twitter (pro tip: Twitter says tweets with photos attached get 313 percent more engagement).

After you finish your Pablo-created images in their various sizes, you can download them to your desktop, then upload to the social networks of your choice. You can also publish directly from Pablo to Facebook and Twitter (or even your Google+ page) using the free version of the Buffer app. Buffer has also added support for publishing and scheduling on Pinterest; that requires upgrading to Buffer’s $10-a-month Awesome plan.

Here’s a direct link to Pablo. For more details and instructions about how to use the tool, see Buffer’s blog.
