Amazon Points Retailers To Shopify As It Nears The End Of Its E-Commerce Platform

Since Amazon’s announcement in March that it would be shuttering its e-commerce platform next year, the online marketplace has selected Shopify as its preferred migration partner.

An announcement posted on Shopify’s blog today says Amazon Webstore owners can now “seamlessly migrate” their Amazon store to the Shopify platform.

As Amazon’s preferred migration partner, we’ve worked closely with the Webstore team to make moving to Shopify simple. In a few steps, merchants can transfer their customer and product data — with zero downtime or service interruptions — and begin taking advantage of an extended 30-day free trial. Shopify Blog

“Shopify exemplifies the value of simplicity in an increasingly complex world of commerce services,” says Amazon VP of Payments Patrick Gauthier. “We are excited to work together with Shopify to create best of class solutions that help merchants integrate Amazon offerings.”

Shopify has created a dedicated migration page for store owners and is launching three new Amazon integrations: Login and Pay with Amazon, Fulfillment by Amazon and an Amazon Sales Channel.

The sales channel integration isn’t available yet, but once installed, it will allow merchants to list products directly on Amazon via Shopify.
