Allstate, a long time sponsor of college football with its Good Hands Field Goal Nets since 2004, is, in celebration of the program’s tenth anniversary, launching a new campaign that includes new ads, PR, promotions and social and digital activations. Central to the campaign is the brand’s #ItsGood2Be Twitter Challenge.

The challenge asks college students to tweet why #ItsGood2Be a fan of their college using the campaign hashtag as well as their own school hashtag. (Allstate has a PDF list of the “official” hashtags for the schools that are being tallied for the contest.) During each week of regular season play, Allstate will award a Good Hands Field Goal Net school that achieves the highest level of conversation $10,000 in scholarship donations. The Good Hands schools are the 81 at which Allstate already sponsors a field goal net.

Up to $150,000 will be awarded in total. It could go to all one school or it could be spread out among several. It all depends on the level of activity a particular school displays.

The campaign website houses a leaderboard that keeps track of each school and how much activity has occurred. Currently, the Virginia Tech Hokies lead followed by the Pittsburgh Panthers. Rounding out the top five are the Ohio Bobcats, the Texas A&M Aggies and the Kansas State Wildcats.

Voting is as simple as sending a tweet or visiting the leaderboard on the campaign website and clicking the corresponding Vote button which auto-populates a tweet with the necessary hashtags.

The campaign website features an aggregation of campaign social media activity, and the site also gives users the ability to upload and share a photo. And, finally, there’s a link to a sweepstakes that offers $100,000 and a trip for four to the Allstate Sugar Bowl semifinals and the College Football Playoff National Championship.
