Twitter Launches Content Distribution Program For Verified Accounts

Today Twitter announced they will be releasing an Verified Account data to partner companies that will disperse handles, Tweets and metadata to media and content services. This will allow Twitter content from musicians, actors and celebrities to accompany related media. Three different partners have been selected for this pilot program, The Echo Next, Gracenote and Rovi.

The Echo Nest is the leading platform for music content and powers over 200+ apps and services including Spotify, iHeartRadio, EMI and MOG.  With the new Twitter distribution program, Tweets from artists will be  able to be included into apps using the Echo Nest platform.

Gracenote is a leader in music and movie metadata and features a database that drives music and video products for Apple, iTunes, Sony Bravia and Ford SYNC.  The Verified Account information will be accessible from the Gracenote database.


Rovi is a data, search, recommendation and recommendation service that allows companies to tie into a variety of information.  Tweets will now be accessible from the Rovi database in order for manufactures and service providers to use.

Twitter also stated that they expect to bring more partnerships into the program soon to continue to extend the reach of Twitter.
