Well, if sharing your most enjoyable experiences while on vacation weren’t already easy enough with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Israeli hotel U Coral Beach Club Eilat is making it even easier.
The project, a partnership between digital ad agency Ecapiltoos and the Fattal Hotels Chain in Israel, centers around an RFID bracelet which all guests receive when they check in. The bracelet automatically connects with each guest’s Facebook page and automatically posts the guests’ experiences as they make their way around the resort and interact with special U Share kiosks.
The interactions can occur at 16 camera stations throughout the hotel, including one under the water in the pool. Guests step up to the kiosk and activate the camera with the bracelet; when the photo is taken it’s instantly shared on Facebook. The station next to the hotel’s trapeze lets users shoot and share a 15 second clip, while others allow guests to update their Facebook status.
The company says the capabilities will be updated “in the near future” to include Instagram and Twitter.
The hotel, of course, benefits greatly from its name being automatically attached to all these posts as its guests experience everything the property has to offer. And the guests benefit from spending less time screwing around with social media and more time actually enjoying their vacation. The approach is in keeping with the hotel’s mission as an all-inclusive resort.
The company is promoting the features via its own webpage as well as its Facebook presence:
