So, Google’s recent update was major and as always some search marketers got hit, others improved, and others did not see any change. Anyway, we are all still in the dark about the update. No one knows what the update entailed and that is where the drama starts for search marketers.
Just like zombies in The Walking Dead, the search marketer zombies are out to devour anything and everything they can on the latest Google update. Unfortunately, no one can breakthrough into Google’s Search team and we are all left speculating and roaming around trying to find a bite.
That’s when the panic kicks in and our fellow search marketers (mostly newbies & inexperienced) start worrying and can’t figure out what is the best plan for reaction to the latest update. Good news for you, there others out there who are knowledgeable and experienced in search marketing and you can find comfort and even a plan of action on what you need to do next from them. Listen and Learn from Your Customers Do everything in your power to serve your customers and make sure they are 100% satisfied. A good way to learn from your customers is by using surveys or feedback forms. Also, take all the suggestions your customers send your way. Listening to your customers and their feedback will help you create a better product or service for them. As a result, you will have a great product or service that will be easy to sell and attract traffic to your site.
Create an Engaging User Experience Your product, service, and website should be engaging at all levels. All your content should attract your target audience and answer all their questions. If they searched for you and clicked to visit your website, that should be their last click. They don’t need to go elsewhere to find what they are searching for because your website and product will have everything they need. The only way to do this is to be on top of your game and have your website please your users needs.
Know Everything About Search Marketing Make it your goal to be an expert on search marketing. Learn everything you can on search marketing and implement it on your website. REALLY, learn everything. Become an expert on search marketing that when you look in the mirror you will see Rand and Matt Cutts reflecting back ?. The only way to reach your goal of search marketing is by learning search marketing and doing everything you learn. No one else should do it for you, only you. If you do hire someone else to do it, make sure you get an expert. Do not hire an SEO who will promise you to be rank 1 in a week; hire real SEOs who know what they are doing and have been in business for years. Do due diligence if you are going to hire one. Either way, make sure you learn everything you can on search marketing.
