Simpler LinkedIn Homepage Rolling Out To The Masses

The world’s most popular professional social network is getting a fresh new look.  Say goodbye to the abundance of white-space, large profile pictures and small post graphics.  The new LinkedIn helps to make the content shared the focal point with a much cleaner, modern look.

The design will utilize more greys and blacks (similar to the recently redesigned mobile apps) but the update stream will stay white.  The visuals will be much larger and help draw attention to linked content and conversations that are taking place:

One of the biggest changes is that more relevant updates will stay at the top.  This sounds similar to the Facebook “top stories” model of giving pertinent information to each user the best real estate placement. LinkedIn stated the following about the relevancy:

This makes it quick and easy to stay on top of what matters most, such as trending topics, news, and professional updates based on what your connections and industry are reading, sharing, and discussing. This means, you’ll be spending less time hunting for information you need to be prepared for your workday and spending more time being great at the job you’re in.

IT also appears that LinkedIn Today will continue to get priority placement atop all of the updates.  The new homepage will be rolling out to everyone over the next few weeks.
