Providing metrics to users is something that Twitter has really pushed this last year. From individual analytics to downloadable archives more data than ever is being provided. A new test shows that even more data may be coming.
Mikko Hypponen recently discovered a new Twitter experiment that displays “embedded on these websites” underneath a Tweet:
This is the first time that embed data has been seen from Twitter, and would be quite helpful for marketers. Seeing specific sites that carry your Tweeted content would be a boon for those looking to build their following, build relationships and see what content resonates the most.
Of course this also makes sense for publishers as well. Publishers may try to incorporate more embedded Tweets directly on their sites as the “Embedded on” info helps to bring some exposure to additional conversations that are happening off-Twitter and on-site.
No timetable (or approval) for this feature has surfaced.
