Quora (Finally) Has A Follow Button

From the better-late-than-never file comes news that Quora is

finally offering a “follow” button that can be embedded on websites.

The code is available on Quora.com now. If you’re already a Quora account holder, you should also see a “Create a Follow Button” link on your profile.

The button comes in two colors and embedding it is no different than what you’ve likely experienced when adding Facebook, Twitter or other social buttons to your website. The button can also be customized so that it encourages others to follow a topic, rather than your user profile. Here’s what they look like when set to follow a user profile:

Buttons like these are a must now for any social network. They play into an almost narcissistic desire among users (“follow me!”), but also help to expose and even validate the social network to a new audience. Both Facebook and Twitter — and Google+, to a lesser degree because it’s new — have offered embeddable buttons and widgets for some time.
