When I first started running my own online business I must admit marketing was not my top priority.  I was so busy setting up the website and putting operational processes in place I just outsourced my entire marketing strategy to a specialist company.

Desire is a powerful emotional trigger.  When people desire something it means they will be willing to overlook a number of other factors in order to get what they want.  One of the best things I ever learnt was how to create desire for my product.  This can be an exceptionally powerful selling tactic when used properly.  In consumer terms desire is frequently achieved by making something the latest ‘must have’ purchase.

– With the right marketing desire can be created that can entice people into buying items they would not normally consider. – When a craze for a certain product or service begins a large majority of people will rush out and buy even if they do not actually need or really want it. – For example many toys suddenly develop into ‘must have’ items around Christmas time.  People will scour the shops and even pay over the odds just to get these items. – Desire to own the product or try the service will overtake reasoning and create a highly motivational buying environment. – With the right marketing campaign you can create a real sense of desire for your product.  This can take your business to the next level and ensure you are hitting those powerful emotional triggers to boost your sales.
