Working with AKQA, Nike is helping everyone celebrate their workout achievements by creating customized videos using personalized Nike+ user data. The videos highlight the individual’s 2014 achievements and offer a look forward to 2015.
Each one-minute film, illustrated by French artist McBess, is created by using location, weather, activity and individual movement data. It’s the first time Nike has used member data which has been adapted to create over 100,000 unique videos.
Nike+ users can go to the brand’s Your Year microsite, log into their Nike+ account and receive an automagically-created, personalized video which they can share with their friends and followers on social media.
In addition to the personalized films, the agency created videos highlighting the achievements of those in four cities: Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City and Toronto.
The brand is promoting the effort on its Facebook page (screenshot below as post isn’t embeddable):
The video has achieved 73,000 views, 1,107 likes, 43 comments and 399 shares.
The video is also being promoted on the brand’s Twitter page:
Your best year is behind you. A better year is in front of you. #nikeplus http://t.co/b4w9bGIbxn — Nike (@Nike) December 26, 2014
Of the effort, Nike VP of North America Brand Marketing David Schriber said:
“Our Nike+ members accomplished some amazing things in 2014, and we wanted to inspire them to push for new goals and opportunities in 2015 by sharing some of the magic behind their data in an artistic and unexpected way.”
