In October of final 12 months Motherboard gained entry to an enormous, secretive Bitcoin mine housed inside a repurposed manufacturing unit within the Liaoning Province in rural northeast China.
This is the infrastructure that retains the digital forex’s decentralized community up and working, and its operators are profiting huge time.
The mine we visited is only one of six websites owned by a secretive group of 4 individuals, a part of a colossal mining operation that, as of our go to, cumulatively generated 4,050 bitcoins a month, equal to a month-to-month gross of $1.5 million.
