Google is taking up more office space in Mountain View, renting a 500,000 square foot complex located at 100 Mayfield Avenue. The San Jose Mercury News reports that the rental is the largest Silicon Valley lease deal of 2013.

According to reports, the office complex has the potential to house 2,500 employees. The San Jose Mercury News claims that the Santa Clara County public records name Devcon Construction as the company completing improvements at the facility, with Google listed as the tenant.

While neither Google nor any of the construction and real estate companies attached to the deal are commenting, business development specialist Tiffany Chew said it was encouraging to see Google renting more space in Mountain View. “They will bring more jobs to the city,” Chew told the San Jose Mercury News, “There will be more people shopping and going to restaurants in that area.”

The news of this lease follows Google’s confirmed real estate deal last month of 15-acres in Palo Alto near the Googleplex headquarters, as well as their one-million square foot Bay View campus construction project that has been temporarily delayed.
