Google: Fear Of Mobilegeddon Boosted Mobile-Friendly Sites By 5%

mobilegeddon-smartphone-ss-1920

As covered on our sister site, Google announced that since the initial announcement of the mobile friendly update two months ago, 4.7% more sites are mobile friendly.

Google said, “we’ve seen a 4.7% uptick in the proportion of sites that are mobile friendly, and we hope to see even more in the coming months.”

All the news and fear around Mobilegeddon, which actually started rolling out today, encouraged many webmasters to take the leap and go mobile friendly over the past two months.

I’d suspect now that this news is in more of the mainstream media, we will see even more sites go mobile friendly over the next few months.
