Five Days Later, Feedburner Restores Feed Counts

They’re back.

It took almost five days, but feed counts are now showing again in Feedburner’s dashboard.

While the feed counts are back, I’m missing five days worth of stats. Feedburner is reporting zero subscribers for September 18-22 in my account, and presumably in all accounts.

On Thursday night, I first noticed that the counts for my feeds were all showing zero subscribers. Google posted about it Friday morning, saying that Feedburner was experiencing ” difficulties with our stats production pipeline for data representing Sept 19th and 20th, 2012.”

About an hour ago, the feed counts in my dashboard returned — almost five days since I noticed the counts missing. We had already reached out to Google for an update on the issue this afternoon, but there’s been no reply yet.

There’s been a lot of speculation over Feedburner’s future recently, spurred in part by Google not renewing the Feedburner.jp domain and the impending shutdown of the Feedburner API on October 20th. Add to those the shutdowns of the Feedburner Twitter account and the Adsense for Feeds blog.

Google has been mum when asked about its plans for Feedburner.
