Facebook Rebrands “Nearby” As “Local Search”


According to at least two recent surveys, Facebook — surprisingly — emerges as one of the primary places people look for local business information on the Internet.

Last year, Facebook relaunched its mobile “Nearby” app feature. And now, the company has renamed Nearby. It’s now being called “Local Search,” which is more self-explanatory.  This won’t necessarily increase usage overnight, but it certainly makes the content and functionality much more clear.
