Facebook is giving the “thumbs up” to its new “Like” and “Share” buttons — the ones that dropped the actual “thumbs up” a month ago.
Based on the success of those new buttons, Facebook has announced that the new look is rolling out to all users, and also extending to the Follow and Like Box plugins as well.
What kind of success?
In today’s post, Facebook’s Ray He says the new-look buttons have driven a five percent increase in Likes and Shares across the web.
Also included in Facebook’s announcement is news that publishers using embedded Facebook posts can now customize the display width from anywhere between 330 and 750 pixels.
Facebook’s confirmation follows yesterday’s news that third-party service Shareaholic had noted a rise in Facebook sharing, seemingly fueled in part by the new changes. For more on that, see our previous story, Facebook’s Share Of Visits Up 170% Over Past Year; Up 47% Since Share Button Dropped The Thumb.
