Facebook Home Rolling Out Internationally Today

Facebook’s new Android experience, Facebook Home, is launching outside the U.S. today. That’s according to Facebook’s Cory Ondrejka, who

made the announcement today at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference.

The international rollout is of the Facebook Home app only; the phones that have it pre-installed won’t be sold until later this year.

Home launched less than two weeks ago in the U.S. on a limited number of Android devices. Among its features, Home essentially takes over the device’s home and lock screens, pushing Facebook content to the user without him/her having to launch the Facebook app.

According to The Verge, Ondrejka also revealed that the first update to the Home app will be ready in the second week of May, but he didn’t offer any details about new features.

Facebook Chat Heads On iOS

Meanwhile, Home isn’t available on iOS, but one of its features is: Facebook has announced an update to its iPhone and iPad apps, both of which will support Chat Heads — the feature that brings Facebook’s private messages outside of the app itself.

Facebook’s iPad app is also getting an upgrade to the new News Feed experience that launched last month.
