Consume Tweets From Only Your Favorite Twitter Accounts With “Fave People” Test

While Twitter has always stood behind an unfiltered Twitter stream, testers now have access to a new feature named “Fave People.” This functionality allows users to keep closer tabs on those accounts that they value in a separate timeline. Much like a Twitter List, users can be added by tapping a star icon on their profile.

According to TechCrunch, the app has a swipe-able navigation that places the “Fave People” tab between Home and Discover in the main nav. In order to pull users into this tab a click-able star logo will show up next to their profile. Once clicked, they are officially a fave person.

While Twitter lists are immensely helpful they are clunky and not utilized by most users. The “Fave People” looks to work nearly exactly like a list (with easier addition and viewing) but with a similar appearance to Facebook’s Close Friends feature.

So, will this be the end of organic reach for brands on Twitter too? No. This should simply be an easy-to-use list that will help people sort their favorite accounts. Fave People should help make the Twitter timeline less daunting to come back to after time off and easier to extract important information while following many accounts.
