Co-Founder Charlie Cheever Is Out At Quora

Charlie Cheever, co-founder of the growing Q&A site Quora, has stepped away from day-to-day work and is now just an advisor to the company. As

TechCrunch is reporting, Cheever’s future plans are unknown at the moment.

Cheever co-founded Quora with Adam D’Angelo in 2009 after the pair served instrumental roles during Facebook’s early days. Quora formally launched in 2010 and, by the end of the calendar year, began seeing significant traffic growth. Between late 2010 and late 2011, US traffic to Quora was up 882 percent.

Cheever hasn’t commented on the split yet, but D’Angelo offered an official — and canned — response on the site that begins by saying, “We decided it was best for Charlie to step away from his day-to-day role at the company.”

In a separate Q&A on the site, a pair of Quora reviewers showered Cheever with praise while sharing their “shock” and “upset” over his departure.

Cheever was reportedly heavily involved in Quora’s recent launch of its first Android apps.
